Day 1: BHUBANESWAR

Arrival in Bhubaneswar Airport / hotel. Our representative meets you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After a quick lunch, we will take you to some of the famous stores in Bhubaneswar , government cooperative shops most likely where you can see all the famous textiles of Odisha under one roof. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 2: BHUBANESWAR - NUAPATNA – SADEIBARENI - DHENKANAL

Today we will drive to Dhenkanal. On the way we will stop by at Nuapatna textile village , famous for Double Ikat Weaving technique. This method is also known as Tie and Dye technique, very unique, half of the day will be spent to understand the complex methods of Ikat weaving and understand how weaving is still done using traditional tools. Later we stop at Sadeibareni Dhokra craft village, the villagers use the lost wax technique to make small figures. The evening will be spent with the sadhus of the Mahima sect at Joranda monastery. The evening rituals are very interesting and we recommend all our travelers to be a part of this. Overnight at a royal palace in Dhenkanal.

Day 3: DHENKANAL - SAMBALPUR

Today we will be driving towards Sambalpur, a place famous for its sarees. In the evening we will check into hotel. The day is free for sightseeing in Sambalpur. We can see the famous leaning temple of Huma on this day. Overnight in hotel

Day 4: SAMBALPUR - BARPALI – BARGADH - BOLANGIR

Today after breakfast we will drive towards Bolangir , on the way we will make stops first at Barpali. Barpali is famous for its cotton and silk weavers. We will spend some time at a workshop and learn the techniques of cotton and silk weaving. The master craftsmen here are known for their Tasser Silk Weaving techniques. Later we will go to Bargadh , also an important textile center. we will stop at some of the most important cooperative stores in Bargadh. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5: BOLANGIR - SAGARPALI – SONEPUR - BOLANGIR

After breakfast we drive to Sagarpali silk and cotton weaving factory. The purpose to visit Sagarpali is to get a basic idea of design developments on textiles and to see the kind of training that is given to students by the master craftsmen. Further we drive towards Sonepur to see how natural ingredients are used for dying process. Return back to Bolangir. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6: BOLANGIR - BHUBANESWAR

After breakfast, drive back to Bhubaneswar. Overnight in hotel.

Day 7: DEPARTURE

You have to make sure that you carry your passport, Visa and Photo ID cards on the tour

  • Know about the route maps or carry one along and also learn about the transport facilities available so that these things might come in handy. Learn about the vegetation and the diseases causing insects and the remedial measures.
